Be Prepared

Humboldt County is a beautiful place to live, but one of the prices we pay for this beauty is that we are susceptible to a number of natural disasters. Earthquakes, tsunami, wildfires, floods and windstorms are on the list. These hazards and others can result in our being even more isolated than we are.

The Humboldt County Chapter is encouraging everyone to take the following steps now to be prepared:

• Educate yourself. Do you live in a risk area? What about others in your family? Is your business prepared?
• Make a plan (at home and at work).
• Build a kit (in your car, at home, at work).

You can contact the chapter for information about preparedness. We can even come to your workplace to hold a free preparedness workshop.

All funds donated to the chapter will be used to benefit the Humboldt County Community - in other words, they will stay in Humboldt County!
