Who We Are

The primary objective of the Georgia Black United Fund, Inc. (GBUF) is fundraising through the payroll deduction systems, direct contributions, special events, board member assessments and corporate grants. The secondary objective is grant making to support projects and programs which assists in building an African American self-sufficient economic infrastructure. GBUF was organized in October 1975 and is one of twenty-two affiliates of the National Black United Fund, Inc.

The Georgia Black United Fund is committed to bringing together the human and financial resources of the State of Georgia to enhance the quality of living for all. The human resources are the supporters (paid and unpaid staff) who are dedicated to serving others. Financial resources are provided primarily through workplace giving campaigns where employees are given the opportunity to choose which of the more than 32 agencies they wish to support with their dollars through payroll deduction. Currently, GBUF participates in the following campaigns; Public - Fulton County Project Hope, State of Georgia, City of Atlanta, Emory University, Agnes Scott College, Atlanta Housing Authority, City of East Point, MARTA, and the Combined Federal Campaign, Corporate - AT&T, Lucent Technology, and the Miller/ Zell Corp.
