About Us

Garden State German Shepherd Rescue is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming German Shepherd Dogs. We are a full service rescue and referral organization serving New Jersey, parts of Delaware Valley and parts of Staten Island.

GSGSR foster dogs are rescued from shelters and pounds in New Jersey where most were facing euthanasia. Dogs that pass our temperament evaluations are brought into the rescue as space permits.

The adoption fees that we collect help to defray our expenses for veterinary care but do not cover the amount spent on each dog. Our income is derived from adoption fees, donations and fund raising activities; all of which goes to care for the dogs. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
