Beginning in 1990, The Women's Treatment Center pioneered the state of Illinois' comprehensive residential substance abuse treatment services for women with children and has become a national model for providing treatment and support services to women and children in a community-based setting. What distinguishes The Women's Treatment Center from other treatment programs is its exclusive focus on women's unique needs, its substantive Parenting Program, and its comprehensive children's programming. TWTC is an Illinois 501(c)(3) agency that serves residents from across the state.
The mission of The Women's Treatment Center is to provide women with a continuum of care, recovery tools, and parenting skills to maintain a sober lifestyle as they rebuild their lives and futures and mend the bonds with their families. In addition to substance abuse treatment, TWTC also provides an array of wraparound services designed to address the full range of client needs, including medical and mental health services, parenting education, and child care services, as well as linkages to job training, employment, education and other community-based programs.
